Mr.Color Metallic Paint

A high-performance mirror-finish silver paint designed specifically for airbrush application. This is an advanced-use paint intended for achieving a highly reflective metallic surface.

Product Features:

• Apply over a smooth, glossy surface to achieve a mirror-like silver finish. If applied over a matte or uneven surface, the mirror effect cannot be achieved.
• For the base coat, a gloss ACRYSION color—especially Gloss Black—is recommended. Once fully cured, ACRYSION has strong solvent resistance, helping the glossy base remain intact while allowing Mirror Silver to adhere properly.

Base Coat Compatibility:

• ◎ ACRYSION
• △ Mr. Color / Mr. Color GX
• × Aqueous Hobby Color — the surface quickly loses its gloss and metallic appearance.

Compatibility above assumes airbrush application. Brush painting uses a larger amount of solvent and may attack the ACRYSION base coat.

• Allow the ACRYSION base coat to dry for approximately 24 hours before applying Mirror Silver.
• When airbrushing, keep the needle relatively closed and apply the paint in very thin, light passes rather than spraying a heavy wet coat.
• Applying too much paint at once may cause the surface to become whitish and can significantly reduce the mirror effect.
• After applying Mirror Silver, allow it to cure thoroughly for approximately 2 days to 1 week before applying a clear coat.
• It can be coated with Aqueous Hobby Color Gloss Clear or ACRYSION Gloss Clear. Either clear coat may slightly reduce the mirror-like appearance.
• Clear colors can also be applied over Mirror Silver to create a colored chrome / plated-metal effect.

Thinning:

• No thinning is required.
• The paint is supplied ready for airbrush use.

Cleaning:

• Clean airbrushes and other tools with Mr. Tool Cleaner R after use.

Important Notes:

• Contains organic solvents. Always use in a well-ventilated area during and after painting.
• Numbers such as “H-1” shown on color samples indicate the closest corresponding Aqueous Hobby Color reference.
• Do not use on ABS plastic parts. The solvent may penetrate the resin, causing the plastic to become brittle, crack, or break.
• Always check the model’s instruction manual and runner markings before painting.
