Product Details

• Volume: 40ml, unthinned
• Suggested thinning ratio: 1 part paint to 2–3 parts thinner
• Type: Black base coat surfacer
• Use: Ideal as a black primer base before painting

Black base coat is especially useful when applying thicker coats of lighter colours over top, or for parts with embedded lighting modules where a dark undercoat can help prevent light bleed.

Finish

• The finish is roughly equivalent to a #1500 sanded surface.
• To preserve the primer’s surface texture, only sand primed surfaces with sandpaper finer than #1500.

Notes

• For best results, avoid applying surfacer or primer in high-humidity environments.
• Lower grit surfacers create a rougher finish with stronger coverage, requiring fewer coats to hide the underlayer.
• Higher grit surfacers create a finer finish with lighter coverage, usually requiring more coats to fully hide the underlayer.
